RSS ReWriter Installation#
Requirements#
- WordPress 6.2 or newer
- PHP 7.4 or newer
- HTTPS on production website
- Active WP-Cron or a server cron calling
wp-cron.php - Outbound HTTPS connections to licensing and AI services
- Valid RSS ReWriter license
Preparing the package#
- Download the RSS ReWriter package and license key from the member area.
- Extract the ZIP package on your computer. Do not upload the ZIP package directly to WordPress.
- Inside, you will find the installable plugin ZIP file ready to install, along with documentation.
- Back up your files and database if installing on an active website.
Installing from a ZIP file#
- Go to Plugins > Add New Plugin in WordPress.
- Click Upload Plugin.
- Select the installable
rss-rewriter-{version}.zipfile from the extracted package. Do not extract this installable ZIP file. - Click Install Now.
- Once completed, click Activate Plugin.
- Go to the RSS ReWriter > License menu.
If installing via server, extract the rss-rewriter folder to:
wp-content/plugins/rss-rewriter
Then activate NexaPress - AI RSS ReWriter from the Plugins page.
Initial checks#
After activation, ensure the following menus are available:
- RSS ReWriter Dashboard
- Campaigns
- Settings
- RSS Article Links
- Log Viewer
- System Health
- License
Operational menus remain locked until the license is successfully activated.
After installation#
- Activate license.
- Select AI provider.
- Run Test Connection.
- Create first campaign.
Updating RSS ReWriter#
Automatic update#
- Back up website files and database.
- Ensure your license is active and connected to the website domain.
- Open the RSS ReWriter status/license page, then click Check Update if available.
- Go to Dashboard > Updates or Plugins.
- Select RSS ReWriter and run the update. Do not close your browser during the process.
- Once completed, clear website/CDN cache and check campaigns, scheduler, and AI connections.
Manual update#
- Download and extract the latest RSS ReWriter package on your computer.
- Go to Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin.
- Upload only the installable
rss-rewriter-{version}.zipfile from inside the package. - Select Replace current with uploaded if WordPress prompts it.
- Ensure the plugin and license are active again, then run System Health and Test Connection.
Do not use the ZIP package as an update file, and do not delete the old plugin before ensuring a backup is available.
